The Journey Home❤

Yesterday I travelled back home to see my family❤ I normally have to take the bus, but I managed to get a flight this time! It was such a joy to fly home above the clouds. My day started early, listening to the sweet tunes of Tori Kelly, Haim and John Mayer as I made the bus journey to the airport. I took a slightly earlier bus than I needed to, which was worth it because I love to take my time, and I got to see the beautiful sunrise!

Once I got to the airport, I checked in my bag and enjoyed a nice morning coffee with my current read, "Rebecca" by Daphne Du Maurier. It was such a peaceful morning.

I have such a childlike fascination when it comes to flying in planes. Maybe it's because I have only ever been overseas once, and I don't fly frequently. Or maybe it's because of the sheer beauty of being thousands of feet above the ground. The beauty of the earth is magnified astoundingly when you view it from above. God's power to create such breathtaking beauty is awe inspiring. I was constantly peeping out the window and trying to get a nice shot of the clouds (without the darn propellers ruining it too much). It made me a little sad that no one else around me was doing the same - they all had their eyes on their phones, ipads, or newspapers. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think we are all guilty of replacing the wonders of the world around us with a glowing screen. Flying helps me regain my fascination with our big, gorgeous world.

Home over the past couple of days has meant green tea and long chats in the sun with Mum, coffee and catching up with my grandparents in their sunny lounge, laughing at my cat, bantering with my little brother, shooting hoops with my little sister, getting an almond milk latte and lunch at my favourite cafe while I did a touch of study, dessert with my longest friend, Mum's cooking and Dad's jokes. It's so nice to get away from my life and be around my family for a little bit. I love living in the big city but it gets a little lonely sometimes, being independent. I can't wait for more relaxing days here❤
